In her interactive session at the World Government Summit, Dr. Shefali Tsabary spoke about the importance of being a conscious parent and the need to revolutionise how we raise our children to ensure we do not project on them a pre-defined set of rules – saying this will ensure the next generation of youth are well-rounded both in and outside the classroom. Tsabary explained that learning begins in the home. However, most parents raise children in the mirror of their own beliefs. Many struggle so much with trying to control their offspring that they end up projecting on their child their own dreams and aspirations instead of allowing them to be authentic and truly develop as individuals. The idea of conscious parenting also goes hand-in-hand with conscious education. Conscious educational practices - “bowing down to the true nature” of a child’s spirit - will allow youngsters to grow into well-rounded thinkers and innovators.
