Machines usually make better decisions than humans, because their analyses are objective and free of bias, Daniel Kahneman said in a plenary session at the 2019 edition of the World Government Summit in Dubai. “Nobody wants to accept that machines are better than people,” he said, but explained that this is indeed the case in many areas. When it comes to emotional intelligence, for example, robots can better predict a person’s facial expression [and therefore how they might act] based on a quick analysis of the data. Kahneman said it was only a matter of time before computers become more intelligent than people, thanks to the exponential pace at which technology is developing. The more bullish experts estimate this could happen within the next 30 to 40 years, while the more cautious ones place the event within a century. The Nobel laureate advised leaders not to rely on intuition upon making decisions, but to build an ability for disciplined thinking instead
